The juxtaposition of Mark Ronson and Angel Olsen is the best thing since sliced bread. Apparently, I have been sleeping on Mark Ronson’s new Album-Late Night Feelings. The hot single-True Blue has got me bursting some moves, all alone. Here is a review.

Olsen’s opening; a distant slur of a love affair gone wrong draws you to melancholy. ”fucking around, not falling in love” However, the upbeat and slowly raising continuous disco introduces Ronson’s eclectic voice, ambling on the possibilities that abound in interpersonal dealings “I never thought to find a way here…well, you can’t plan for this one….”

“I run to you, run to you, and you know why” there is a mutual conceit and Olsen is brave enough to admit it. “love the way you read my eyes” “I love the way you read my eyes” she continues. What do you want your lover to know? Tell me, do you remember that person you always went back to…or go back to? This track slaps like a dour love song, filled with nostalgia, smeared with hope of warmth at the ending of a failed exhilarating romantic relationship.

With this buzz of guitar that make you swing your hips in rhythmic patterns and your head, snapping and bopping. Mark’s trademark, elaborate production, this time affording some classic disco. Come on, swoon to Ronson’s affirmations “when it’s finally seen all the love in your eyes……when you came around”

Olsen said “I wanted to make something dark like that, but also something people could skate to”. Oh, to God, she did!

Pitchfork reviewed and concluded “it is a sad song for the wee, drunken hours-a sad banger, that suits the lone dancer best”
